Rishi Sunak himself posted a video on Twitter saying that he will stand in the race to become the leader of the Conservative Party and the Prime Minister. He has also started his promotional campaign with the slogan ‘Ready for Rishi’. In the campaign video, Rishi Sunak showcases his family’s journey from India to the UK and his attachment to the country. He said that it was our country, Britain, that gave him and millions of others like him a chance for a better future. Sunak claimed that Britain is facing great challenges and the decisions taken today will determine whether the next generation of British people will also have a chance for a better future. Sunak says that he wants to take the country in the right direction

Former UK finance minister Rishi Sunak is at the forefront of the race for the new UK prime minister. Indian-origin sage Sunak was included in Boris Johnson’s cabinet as finance minister, but he resigned from his post after a politician was implicated in a sex scandal. Rishi Sunak became an MP for the first time in 2015 from the North Yorkshire constituency of Richmond. He acquired the chair of Finance Minister in 2020, less than five years later. However, the controversy over his wife’s tax matters and the imposition of fines for violating the lockdown rules also took a toll on Rishi Sunak’s reputatIon

Rishi, who stepped into parliament in 2015, was one of the leaders of the Conservative Party who supported Boris Johnson’s decision to leave Britain from the European Union. He believed that small businesses in Britain would perform better after the exit of Brexit. Before becoming the Finance Minister, Sunak had been the Chief Secretary of the Treasury and had also been the Second-in-Command of the Finance Minister.
